InspirAsian Dance
Promoting Modern Indian Dance in the South West
Classes and courses
InspirAsian Dance provide weekly classes for all ages and abilities in a number of locations around Bristol.

Each class consists of a Warm-up and Cool-down which is yoga based, providing flexibility, alignment and strength.

Isolated body movements typical of Indian Dance are also taught to enable the students to learn the technique and style.

Choreographed dance routines are taught over a seies of 3-4 weeks. Each dance routine is then put together to form a 'medley' of dances covering a range of Indian Dance styles.

Each week the learner comes away with a dance that can be practised at home to the music which can be obtained from the teacher.

Performance opportunities are available to give the students to show their friends and family what they have learnt as part of a community show.

Session info
An overview of each session:

Classes start with Yoga Postures and isolated body movements to prepare the body for exercise and engage the brain for the choreography taught later.
A choreographed routine is learnt over a period of 3-4 weeks. Each week follows on from the previous week.*
Classes end on stretching and toning exercises to cool the body down gradually.
(* So as not to disrupt the pace of the linked sessions, please contact Charlotte to find out when each new choreographed dance is starting. This is to make sure that each learner can progress and benefit from the sessions fully.)

Some points:

Wear clothes you can move easily in, barefoot or appropriate footwear for exercise.
Catch-up sessions can be arranged if a session is missed or you want to join half-way through learning a dance.
If you and enough people are interested in holding a class in your area, let me know and we can set something up!
Private tuition also available.
