A half-hour event for two people, you and your partner are sat at a table and wear headphones which tell you what to say to each other, you just need to listen and respond accordingly. Etiquette explores the difficulty of turning our thoughts into words we can trust and exposes human communication at its most delicate.

Five in the Morning (Saturday 24 May, 8pm) meanwhile sees the Tobacco Factory transformed into an enormous indoor leisure-pool complex. With a completely white set, Rotozaza’s latest work considers “how we consider our own personas, piecing together a narrative that we play in our minds. Explaining more would give away some of the surprises, which are essential to the delight of the show. As with a great suspense film, watching this unusually daring show provides the gradual recognition of being manipulated – and enjoying every second of it” New York Times.

Etiquette has a very limited capacity, so this is offer is subject to availability. Call the Tobacco Factory Box Office on 0117 902 0344 and quote "Aquaworld" to book. For further info visit the Mayfest website www.mayfestbristol.co.uk

Hope you enjoy the shows!
The Flaw Set line-up announced!

It's a party. No, it's a gig. No, it's a theatre show. Whatever it is, The Flaw Set's back.

At the Tobacco Factory on Friday 23 May, for your delight, we have:

Napoleon IIIrd - hotter than hot, here's how he describes himself on myface: Sounds like: The Beach boys in Mr Wilson’s sandpit, wrestling with John Cage's baby boy who is currently learning to play the trumpet.

And here's what other people say:
"One of the most visionary artists in the world today." - Drowned In Sound
"A fine album" - Dazed & Confused
"Remember his name... Napoleon IIIrd is dynamite." - Amelia's Magazine
"Hit Schmooze For Me is the finest tune to rail against the daily grind since, well, 9 To 5." - GuardianUnlimited

Freeze Puppy - Bristol's own. Needs no intro.

Here's what Venue say about him:
"Even if ideas-wise your average Freeze Puppy composition features everything including the kitchen sink (often with most of the plumbing dementedly ripped out and chucked in for good measure), there's always a big fat hummable snake of melody slithering irresistibly through its core."

And then, there's performative goings on from The Flaw Set's hosts The Special Guests, plus Residence artists Tom Marshman, Ed Rapley, Kettle of Fish and The Wonder Club.

It all kicks off at 8pm and you can book tickets here: 0117 902 0344. Speaking of tickets they're £8/£6 concession.

See you there!

www.myspace.com/theflawset
www.thespecialguests.co.uk
www.residence.org.uk
www.myspace.com/boney3
www.mayfestbristol.co.uk

Mayfest 2008... some bits and pieces...

Hello,

Matthew here from Mayfest...

We're racing to the finishing line in preparation for this year's festival.
