I've recently been let down by an actor who was cast in a short film I'm producing. I've out an advert on the site - but I don't want to pin all my hopes down here just in case no one sees it in time.

Are there any other sources / places forum members feel I would benefit from posting the job there?

Thanks alot,
Sam.

RE: BOV Meeting

I just wanted to say that the most important thing for me was how many folks turned up, it was really powerful to see.

I felt part of a larger community for the first time. I'm lucky working at Residence that there is a massively supportive group of my peers who I'm in near daily contact with. But beyond that is a huge number of people I have never met.

That feeling of being part of something was incredibly uplifting.

Residence Discussion Event

I really enjoyed this month's discussion. For me the most interesting topic we covered was "how much work do you do each work and is this appropriate?" This opened up all kind of thoughts in my head. Principally the differences between the work of the wallet, the head, and the heart.I constantly feel pursued by my own imagined expectations of what qualifies as work and by the feeling that I'm never doing enough of the terrifying heart felt work which is of substance, reward and failure, and instead filling time with the stuff and nonsense of day by day and the unsatisfying accumulation of hours behind a close, bright, screen. So it would be nice to see what other felt upon reflection. Maybe we can have an open discussion about next month's format and topic?

'The social benefits of participation in arts events'

My name is Cathy Newman. I am currently studying at the University ofGloucestershire, in my 3rd year, and as part of my course, I am writing mydissertation on 'the social benefits of participation in arts events', usingBristol as a case study. I am currently visiting a number of different arts events that are beingheld within Bristol, and aim to find out what benefits they have tocommunities, and people within those communities.I would be very grateful if anyone could help by answering some, or all of thequestions that follow:What, in your eyes, are the social benefits of participation in the arts? Can you give me 3 benefits that come from such participation?Do you think that national government legislation for social inclusion is successful? How do you feel that the local government works with this? What do you think of the arts provision in Bristol, generally? Do you think that Bristol City Council provides a varied program of arts that include most social groups?Do you think that people in Bristol benefit from the arts, and if so, how? Can you give me examples? Can you give me 3 ways in which Bristol could improve the provision of the arts? What do you think of the ways in which Bristol uses ‘the arts’? What, potentially, do you believe could change in Bristol through good provision of ‘the arts’?Thank you for your time. A quick look on the London Mime Festival programme seems to indicate that it is currently programming men only? What's going on? If its through choice why? if its due to other forces, what are they? What is the impact on your work? What happens when the outside moves inside? Is moving from the outside to the inside a threat or an opportunity for positive change?

ClearChannel

Do you regard ClearChannel as a threat to independent theatre?
