The Artspace Lifespace project is an artist led collective established to campaign for creative space and recyclable resources for the exhibition and creation of art. We recycle old spaces into functioning resource centres and the remains of last summers project can still be seen sticking out through the rubble at the site of the Audi Garages on cheltenham road.
We have managed to negotiate our first official legal space from the council in the form of The Old Police Station on Somerville road. This site was home to a long term community project which lost the building after its funding was cut. We are happy to be able to re-open this space and announce its availability to the bristol Creative Community.
We have two fairly large exhibition/rehearsal/meeting rooms. these are available on an hourly basis and suitable for meetings, theatre rehearsals etc. We hope this will be the first of many and are currently also negotiating for studio spaces and performance venues.
